LOGGING ON THE AREA 51 ROAD IS NOT TAKING PLACE AT THIS TIME.

FRISBY HAUL ROAD:

There is active logging on Frisby at this time and you are REQUIRED to stay OFF the haul road (which is the main plowed road).  ACTIVE HAULING IS TAKING PLACE!  Use EXTREME CAUTION when crossing the main haul road at the designated crossings.  Stay OFF of the haul road otherwise.  You are required to unload at the usual parking lot (across from Glacier House Resort), proceed up the trail until you see the yellow and black snowfence.  Turn left, follow the signs.  At the first junction where you will come upon the haul road you will see an orange snowfence and signs directing you onto the trail.  This is a SHARP LEFT turn onto the trail which runs along the left side of the main haul road.  This trail is very close to the main road, so make sure you STAY on the trail both going up the mountain and coming down at the end of the day.   Approximately 1 km up the trail you will see where it crosses the main road.  Stop and make sure no traffic is coming, cross the road and carry on up the new trail.

Snowmobilers HAVE to STAY OFF the haul road.  It is unlawful to drive a snowmobile on a plowed resource road in BC.  It is ONLY through YOUR COOPERATION that this area will stay open this winter.  Any illegal snowmobiling on the plowed road will result in closure of this area unti logging is completed.

It is extremely dangerous to be on this road at any time.  It is narrow and there is not room for a logging truck to go around you if met on the road either on your sled or in your vehicle.

The road is well marked stating that the main road is closed to snowmobile traffic.

DO NOT DRIVE  YOUR RIG up the road to unload your sled, go to the main parking lot.

When coming down off the mountain, stop at all road crossing and look for traffic.  Weekends can see maintance vehicles on this road at any time as well as equipment being moved in and out.

Work with us and this area will remain open, break the rules and it will close.

Your cooperation will keep this road open, without your cooperation the road will be closed until logging is finished and the access to the mountain will also be denied.

Work with us, the sooner they can get the logging done, the sooner we will be back on the main trail but in the meantime we NEED your cooperation.

 McCrae Mountain:

No logging taking place.
